Teaser Unleashed: Ann & Ping Hun

Friday, October 17th, 2008

This wedding had everything. Crazy best man (Keith); beautiful bridesmaids; heaps of relatives; so large that the dinner was done in 2 nights & EXCELLENT food. It practically screams joy but first hear me out. It has more to it… ;)

On an ordinary day, I got a note from Jasmine requesting to assist Louis Pang in his shoot in Penang. Pretty cool I thought! I accepted it without a doubt knowing that I will be able to learn more from him on a shoot. I just attended 2.5 days intensive workshop “Ordinary to Extraordinary” in Penang months back and this will be a great opportunity.

Following that, Ping Hun came to me and told me that he just adjusted the wedding date and that the date will be CLASHING with the day I was supposed to help Louis. ARGHH!!! Imagine that!

I later shared to Ping Hun about this and he was actually generous enough to release me from his wedding shoot. Shoot a pal’s wedding or go and soak up my dry spongy head by assisting Louis… There is really a lot to learn just by looking at how a good photographer shoots. Simply put, it is like martial arts. Once you have some of the basic foot work done, you’ll be able to learn up a lot just by observing how the master execute new moves. I immediately called up Jasmine to explain to her and she was ok and informed me to let her know my decision by the end of the week.

I thought about it (on the same day) and made a decision that since I gave him (Ping Hun) my word last year on helping him on his bigday, I’ll stick to it. He’s going to have only ONE big day in his life. I would have to say no to assisting Louis. I will have to let the opportunity go for now and wish for Louis to have another shoot in Penang soon. hehe..

I called Jasmine up once Ping Hun’s date was confirmed the following day and explained my decision. I’ll just have to wish for the next round!

I later told my self that since I was going to miss learning/assisting Louis’s shoot, I am so making sure that I’ll do well in Ann & Ping Hun’s wedding shoot. So here goes blog stalkers… tonnes of photos this round.
